How does your service work?

  1. You get in touch with our friendly office staff by calling 01-8400799, emailing info@office.aqua-dry.com or filling out a quote form letting us know what you are looking to get done (e.g. sitting room, dining room, stairs and landing). It can be helpful if you have an idea of measurements but if you’re not sure give us a call and we can have a chat about it.
  2. We can usually give a domestic quotation over the phone or via our quote form, however, we also offer a free on-site quotation where necessary.
  3. Once you are happy to go ahead with the job, we will book you in at a time and date that suits you. We then send you an email confirmation with the time, date, cost and details. We also send you a text reminder the day before.
  4. Upon arrival, our technician will walk you through the job beforehand; this gives you the opportunity to point out any areas of concern to him. Our technicians would always point out beforehand if they felt that no result was possible on a given job and will only go ahead if you are happy to.
  5. Payment is made on completion of the job by cash, cheque or credit/debit card to the technician.
  6. Hannah or Tim in the office will check in with you within a couple of days to ensure that you were satisfied with our service.

I don’t need a full clean, just have a few stains, should I attempt to clean these myself?

We often get calls from people who have had a spill or a stain and have gone to work on it with Vanish, washing up liquid, bleach or baking soda etc. Unfortunately, these home treatments can make the situation worse, often leaving permanent stains.

By booking with a professional carpet and upholstery cleaning service you’ll benefit from our top-of-the-range equipment, cleaning products, and (most importantly) expertise in removing stains, soil and allergens in much less time, with much less effort and with much better results than you will be able to achieve yourself.

If in doubt, we’re happy to give you advice over the phone so get in touch with us on 01-8400799 or via our contact form.

What if a stain comes back after a few days?

It can happen (on occasion), that deep stains can wick back up and reappear shortly after the job has been completed and while it can be difficult for a customer to broach dissatisfaction, our office staff follow up each and every job with a call, text or email to check if the customer was satisfied. If it’s the case that the customer felt the job wasn’t satisfactory, we will gladly arrange for a complimentary revisit. We would always prefer to have the opportunity to delight the customer and leave them totally satisfied with the job.

What does your 100% money back guarantee actually mean?

When we check in with you after the job, please mention any aspects of the job that you weren’t satisfied with and we will arrange a complimentary re-visit of the area. If you still aren’t pleased, you pay nothing. Not one cent! No Quibbles.

This makes our service risk-free for our customers.

Are you insured in case something goes wrong?

We are fully insured with public and product liability insurance so that in the extremely unusual case that something goes wrong, you are totally covered.

Will there be any additional charges?

The quotation we give is a real quotation, we don’t offer false low prices and then introduce add-ons and hidden charges on site. Our office staff usually provide a quotation over the phone, or by email, but wherever necessary an on-site quotation can be arranged so we can give you the most accurate price.

Are your products safe to use in the home?

Our machines and cleaning products are purchased from the most reputable manufacturers and have been safety tested to EU standards. They are non-toxic and are suitable for use in the home.

How long will it take?

The length of the job will vary depending on what is being cleaned. Our office staff will be able to give you a good indication when you are booking in.

How long will it take to dry?

Drying times vary considerably from 4-12 hours so it is a little harder to give a solid indication, however, the more heavily soiled a carpet or suite of furniture is, the longer it will take to dry. The weather has a part to play too: warm breezy days are perfect for allowing speedy drying times. It is also important to have an airflow in the room, without that, it will take longer to dry. While not essential to stay off carpets when they are drying, we do advise you to exercise caution if walking from the damp carpet to a hard floor such as wood or marble, as it can be slippery underfoot.

How do I pay? Do you take card payment?

Payment can be made on the day and we accept all major credit/debit cards as well as cash or cheque. We don’t require a deposit beforehand and will leave a paper receipt on the job. If a VAT receipt is required, we can email or post one to you upon payment.

Which locations do you cover?

We cover all areas in Dublin, and while we mainly service the greater Dublin area, we can also service areas outside Dublin. Depending on the size of the job, and the distance, a travel fee may apply to areas further afield.

What are your opening/operational hours?

Our friendly office staff are available from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. We respond to every email and voicemail so if you don’t get through to us immediately, please be assured that we will respond as soon as possible.

In most cases a quotation can be given over the phone if you have an idea of the size of the areas to be cleaned that would be helpful however we can also provide a quote via our contact form.

Carpet Cleaning

How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

Many customers have their carpets deep cleaned once a year, while others book for a special occasion or after a spill. Regular cleaning can help remove the soil and sticky residues that build up in carpet fibres and make carpets look dull over time.

I’ve had a lower quote from another carpet cleaning company, what’s the difference between you and other companies?

Aqua-Dry has more than 40 years’ experience in carpet cleaning. The team focuses on careful workmanship, clear communication and friendly customer care. If the result is not satisfactory or there is an issue with the work, Aqua-Dry is willing to take responsibility and return to put it right.

What methods of carpet cleaning do you use?

Aqua-Dry uses hot water extraction for carpets that are suitable for this process. The technician assesses the carpet and its condition before cleaning. A Deep Clean includes a pre-spray treatment, high-powered extraction and individual attention to stains.

For additional care, Clean & Sanitise adds an anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal treatment. Clean & Protect adds a spray-on stain protector after cleaning, which helps repel water- and oil-based substances. Healthy Home combines the Deep Clean, sanitising treatment and stain protector.

How will I know if my carpet is suitable for cleaning?

The technician will assess the carpet, including its material, construction and condition, before cleaning. They will explain whether hot water extraction is suitable and discuss any limitations they identify. If you are unsure about your carpet, contact Aqua-Dry for advice.

How long does the carpet cleaning process take?

Upholstery Cleaning

How do you know you can safely clean my upholstery?

Before cleaning, the technician assesses the upholstery, including its fabric and condition, to check whether it is suitable for hot water extraction. They will explain any limitations before starting and use the appropriate process for the item.

My sofa says dry clean only. Can it be cleaned?

A care label is one part of the assessment. Aqua-Dry will check the fabric and its condition before confirming whether hot water extraction is suitable. If it is not, the technician will explain the limitations and discuss what can be done.

What types of upholstery can you clean?

Aqua-Dry cleans sofas, couches, chairs, armchairs, recliners and chaise longues. If you have another type of upholstered furniture, contact the team and they can advise you.

How long will it take to dry?

Drying times vary depending on the upholstery, the amount of moisture used and the conditions in the room. Good airflow can help. Your technician can give you guidance after assessing the item.

How much does professional sofa cleaning cost in Dublin?

The price depends on the size and type of furniture, the fabric, its condition and any additional treatments required. Aqua-Dry provides a clear, no-obligation quotation before the appointment, so you know what the work will cost.

Can professional upholstery cleaning remove every stain?

Some stains may not be fully removable, particularly if they have been present for a long time or have had previous treatment. The result depends on the substance, fabric and condition. The technician will assess the item and explain what may be achievable before cleaning.

How far in advance should I book upholstery cleaning?

Aqua-Dry is typically booked one to two weeks in advance, although occasional gaps may allow for shorter-notice appointments. The team gets particularly busy in November and December, so it is best to book early for a pre-Christmas appointment. If you would like stain protector applied to a new sofa, let the team know its delivery date and they will do their best to arrange a visit soon afterwards.

Who will clean my upholstery? Do you use subcontractors?

Aqua-Dry is a small family-run business. The work is carried out by the owner, Tom, his son Tim, Tony, who has been with the company for 25 years, and Dan, who has been with them for seven years. They do not subcontract the cleaning. Hannah or Tim in the office arranges the work.

What is the difference between Deep Clean, Clean & Sanitise, Clean & Protect and Healthy Home?

All four options start with a Deep Clean, which includes a pre-spray treatment, hot water extraction and individual attention to stains.

  • Clean & Sanitise: adds an anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal treatment.
  • Clean & Protect: adds a spray-on stain protector after cleaning. It helps repel water- and oil-based substances and can make future maintenance easier.
  • Healthy Home: combines the Deep Clean, sanitising treatment and stain protector.

Stain protector can help protect upholstery, but it cannot guarantee that every spill or stain will be prevented or removed.

Rug Cleaning

Do you clean viscose rugs?

Unfortunately, viscose fibres are unable to be wet-cleaned as it will damage the fibres irreversibly. Dry cleaning is not an option as it has minimal effect on this type of rug.

Why do you need to take my rug away to clean?

In talking with customers over many years, we recognised the need for a dedicated rug cleaning facility which would be a centre of excellence for cleaning rugs. As a result, over 14 years ago we built our own Rug Cleaning Centre comprising a state-of-the-art cleaning facility and drying room. The results we now achieve are radically better than those that can be delivered in people’s own homes.

Over the years we have developed this facility into a comprehensive expert rug cleaning service, where the cleaning process is extremely thorough and the drying times have been reduced. We believe the results we achieve are second-to-none in Ireland. See our amazing results, updated every week here!

Stain Protector

Can stain protector be applied to existing furniture or does it have to be new?

Stain protector can be applied to suitable new carpets and upholstery or to items that have been professionally cleaned. The material’s condition and any existing protective treatment should be checked before application.

Our technicians can advise whether a treatment is appropriate for your carpet or furniture. Regular vacuuming and prompt attention to spills remain important after application.

How does a stain protector work?

A stain protector forms a protective barrier around suitable carpet and upholstery fibres. This helps improve resistance to everyday spills and soiling and gives you more time to absorb a spill before it soaks in.

It may also make some soiling easier to remove during cleaning. It does not make the material stain-proof or replace regular care.

Will it protect against all spills?

No. A stain protector can help with everyday spills and soiling, but some substances, including bleach and certain food colourings, may still cause permanent marks or colour changes.

Prompt attention to spills remains important. A protective treatment may make some spills easier to clean, but it does not guarantee that every stain can be removed.

Does it change the appearance or feel of the carpet or upholstery?

The treatment is designed to preserve the appearance and feel of suitable carpets and upholstery. Our technicians check the material’s compatibility before applying it.

Not every material is suitable for a stain protector treatment, so please ask us for advice if you are unsure.

Why should I get a stain protector treatment?

A stain protector treatment can help suitable carpets and upholstery resist everyday spills and soiling, giving you more time to deal with accidents and helping furnishings stay looking fresher with regular care.

It may make routine cleaning easier, but it cannot prevent all stains, repair existing damage or protect against every form of wear. Our technicians can explain what is appropriate for your home or workplace.

How long does stain protector last?

How long a stain protector remains effective depends on the material, the amount of use and wear, and subsequent cleaning. Busy hallways and office reception areas may need attention sooner than lightly used rooms.

Professional cleaning can reduce the effectiveness of an existing treatment. After cleaning, our technicians can assess whether a top-up is appropriate and which areas would benefit from it. A full reapplication is not always necessary.

Aqua-Dry has over 40 years’ experience in professional carpet and upholstery care. We can advise on a suitable stain protector treatment and explain how to maintain your furnishings afterwards.
