The Centre for Disease Control explains the difference between cleaning and disinfecting as follows:

Cleaning removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces or objects. Cleaning works by using soap (or detergent) and water to physically remove germs from surfaces. This process does not necessarily kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.

Disinfecting kills germs on surfaces or objects. Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces or objects. • Technicians will travel alone in vans to jobs

• Technicians will work individually on jobs - for any unavoidable exceptions, they will exercise social distancing

• Any staff present must vacate the area while the work is being carried out

• In confirmed cases, your carpets, upholstery, and rugs will be disinfected by Envirosafe spray prior to cleaning to kill any bacteria or viruses that may be sitting on the surface and to avoid transfer

• This will be followed by hot water extraction of carpets, chairs, sofas or dividers (deep cleaning)

• Deep Cleaning is followed by spraying with Envirosafe to eliminate any bacteria or viruses that may have been brought to the surface by the cleaning motion

Was super delighted with the results that Tom achieved on the 2 rugs and a hall runner. I honestly did not think they would come up as well as they did. He worked a small miracle on my good rug which was badly stained. Although Aqua-Dry is located on the far side of the city to me, and there were other companies much closer, I chose Aqua-Dry on the basis of the information on their website and follow- up phone call . The reception staff are all very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Their pricing is very competitive and while I chose to drop -in and collect my rugs the pick-up and delivery charge of €20 each way from one side of the city to the other is very reasonable. Dan was really lovely to deal with and did a fantastic job on the couch and the footstool.
