General

How does your service work?

  1. You get in touch with our friendly office staff by calling 01-8400799, emailing info@aqua-dry.com or filling out a quote form letting us know what you are looking to get done (e.g. sitting room, dining room, stairs and landing). It can be helpful if you have an idea of measurements but if you’re not sure give us a call and we can have a chat about it.
  2. We can usually give a domestic quotation over the phone or via our quote form, however, we also offer a free on-site quotation where necessary.
  3. Once you are happy to go ahead with the job, we will book you in at a time and date that suits you. We then send you an email confirmation with the time, date, cost and details. We also send you a text reminder the day before.
  4. Upon arrival, our technician will walk you through the job beforehand; this gives you the opportunity to point out any areas of concern to him. Our technicians would always point out beforehand if they felt that no result was possible on a given job and will only go ahead if you are happy to.
  5. Payment is made on completion of the job by cash, cheque or credit/debit card to the technician.
  6. Hannah or Tim in the office will check in with you within a couple of days to ensure that you were satisfied with our service.

I don’t need a full clean, just have a few stains, should I attempt to clean these myself?

We often get calls from people who have had a spill or a stain and have gone to work on it with Vanish, washing up liquid, bleach or baking soda etc. Unfortunately, these home treatments can make the situation worse, often leaving permanent stains.

By booking with a professional carpet and upholstery cleaning service you’ll benefit from our top-of-the-range equipment, cleaning products, and (most importantly) expertise in removing stains, soil and allergens in much less time, with much less effort and with much better results than you will be able to achieve yourself.

If in doubt, we’re happy to give you advice over the phone so get in touch with us on 01-8400799 or via our contact form.

What if a stain comes back after a few days?

It can happen (on occasion), that deep stains can wick back up and reappear shortly after the job has been completed and while it can be difficult for a customer to broach dissatisfaction, our office staff follow up each and every job with a call, text or email to check if the customer was satisfied. If it’s the case that the customer felt the job wasn’t satisfactory, we will gladly arrange for a complimentary revisit. We would always prefer to have the opportunity to delight the customer and leave them totally satisfied with the job.

What does your 100% money back guarantee actually mean?

When we check in with you after the job, please mention any aspects of the job that you weren’t satisfied with and we will arrange a complimentary re-visit of the area. If you still aren’t pleased, you pay nothing. Not one cent! No Quibbles.

This makes our service risk-free for our customers.

Are you insured in case something goes wrong?

We are fully insured with public and product liability insurance so that in the extremely unusual case that something goes wrong, you are totally covered.

Will there be any additional charges?

The quotation we give is a real quotation, we don’t offer false low prices and then introduce add-ons and hidden charges on site. Our office staff usually provide a quotation over the phone, or by email, but wherever necessary an on-site quotation can be arranged so we can give you the most accurate price.

Are your products safe to use in the home?

Our machines and cleaning products are purchased from the most reputable manufacturers and have been safety tested to EU standards. They are non-toxic and are suitable for use in the home.

How long will it take?

The length of the job will vary depending on what is being cleaned. Our office staff will be able to give you a good indication when you are booking in.

How long will it take to dry?

Drying times vary considerably from 4-12 hours so it is a little harder to give a solid indication, however, the more heavily soiled a carpet or suite of furniture is, the longer it will take to dry. The weather has a part to play too: warm breezy days are perfect for allowing speedy drying times. It is also important to have an airflow in the room, without that, it will take longer to dry. While not essential to stay off carpets when they are drying, we do advise you to exercise caution if walking from the damp carpet to a hard floor such as wood or marble, as it can be slippery underfoot.

How do I pay? Do you take card payment?

Payment can be made on the day and we accept all major credit/debit cards as well as cash or cheque. We don’t require a deposit beforehand and will leave a paper receipt on the job. If a VAT receipt is required, we can email or post one to you upon payment.

Which locations do you cover?

We cover all areas in Dublin, and while we mainly service the greater Dublin area, we can also service areas outside Dublin. Depending on the size of the job, and the distance, a travel fee may apply to areas further afield.

What are your opening/operational hours?

Our friendly office staff are available from 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. We respond to every email and voicemail so if you don’t get through to us immediately, please be assured that we will respond as soon as possible.

In most cases a quotation can be given over the phone if you have an idea of the size of the areas to be cleaned that would be helpful however we can also provide a quote via our contact form.

Carpet Cleaning

How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

Most of our customers have their carpets deep cleaned annually, while others need it done for a special occasion, or because of an unfortunate spill.

As carpets collect dust, soil, and other allergens over time as well as foodstuffs and debris walked in from outside, we generally recommend carpets be given a good deep clean once a year. Sticky residues left deep in the pile attract dust and soil over time, causing stains to reappear. If not cleaned regularly, carpets can appear duller, and eventually, begin to leave a mustiness in the air.

Many of our customers remark how much fresher the house seems after a deep carpet clean and individuals with respiratory issues notice more ease of breathing.

I’ve had a lower quote from another carpet cleaning company, what’s the difference between you and other companies?

We know we are not the cheapest carpet cleaning company in the market, but we would say that we are the best value for money. We have over 39 years’ experience in the industry, are fully insured against all damages and offer 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

Unfortunately, we have often received calls from people who have had work done by a cheaper, man-with-a-van-type operation, who were left extremely dissatisfied with their whole experience. When they have tried to broach this with said technician, their calls have been ignored, even blocked and they are left feeling like they’ve been had. The general sentiment has been "I wanted a reputable company this time, that’s why I called you". We have found it to be true that the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

What methods of carpet cleaning do you use?

We use a careful process to ensure carpets are deep cleaned, providing excellent results. Using our Hot Water Extraction method, we can deep clean the carpet, removing soiling and leaving the carpet looking fresh.

We offer a Clean and Protect Treatment which adds an extra benefit of stain protection to your carpet after it has been cleaned. This will help prevent future stains, leaving you with long-lasting results.

We can also provide a Healthy Home service which includes the cleaning, stain protector application and adds a sanitisation treatment to help tackle mould, fungus and allergens that may be present in your carpets. This can help benefit people with allergies and help reduce odours too.

Upholstery Cleaning

How do you know you can safely clean my upholstery?

All of our technicians are NCCA trained on how to clean a variety of different fabrics and are knowledgeable on:

  • The type of fabric being worked on
  • What type of cleaning is most suitable
  • If it’s safe to wet clean

Because of the sensitivity of some fabrics there are a number of different methods of cleaning. The more robust fabrics can usually be machine cleaned while hand cleaning services may be appropriate for the more delicate fabrics. The technician will always do a patch test on each fabric before beginning to ensure that the best method is used.

My sofa says dry clean only, can it be cleaned?

Fabric manufacturers will often specify “dry-clean only” on a fabric. This is because there would be minimal risk with dry cleaning so they are not liable for any mishaps with a wet cleaning method. The problem with that is that dry cleaning is not as effective or efficient as wet cleaning and doesn’t tend to get as good results. However, many fabrics labelled “dry-clean only” are in fact perfectly safely wet-cleanable. A knowledgeable and trained technician will be able to determine whether or not it can be safely wet cleaned.

What types of upholstery can you clean?

We specialise in upholstery cleaning of sofas, couches, chairs, armchairs, recliners and chaise longues. Occasionally we get other types of furniture pieces and we are happy to advise on the appropriate care. With proper professional care your living room, dining room and bedroom soft furnishings will give you pleasure for years to come.

How long will it take to dry?

Drying times vary considerably from item to item but in general with a good airflow in the room, we would expect a drying time of 6-12 hours. We recommend keeping windows open in the room to improve the drying time.

Rug Cleaning

Do you clean viscose rugs?

Unfortunately, viscose fibres are unable to be wet-cleaned as it will damage the fibres irreversibly. Dry cleaning is not an option as it has minimal effect on this type of rug.

Why do you need to take my rug away to clean?

In talking with customers over many years, we recognised the need for a dedicated rug cleaning facility which would be a centre of excellence for cleaning rugs. As a result, over 14 years ago we built our own Rug Cleaning Centre comprising a state-of-the-art cleaning facility and drying room. The results we now achieve are radically better than those that can be delivered in people’s own homes.

Over the years we have developed this facility into a comprehensive expert rug cleaning service, where the cleaning process is extremely thorough and the drying times have been reduced. We believe the results we achieve are second-to-none in Ireland. See our amazing results, updated every week here!

Stain Protector

Can stain protector be applied to existing furniture or does it have to be new?

The perfect time to stain protect your carpets and upholstery is when they are brand new or if you have just had them cleaned.

New carpets and upholstery are usually a fairly sizable investment and in order to keep them in the best condition for as long as possible, we highly recommend getting the stain protector applied as soon as possible after they have been delivered.

There is still considerable value in having a protector applied to a freshly cleaned carpet or suite as it will help keep it look good for longer and extend its lifetime. After application, regular vacuuming and immediate attention to stains and spills will keep your furniture and upholstery looking cleaner longer.

How does a stain protector work?

The stain protector works by coating the fibres of your fabric or carpet with an invisible shield. This barrier helps prevent oil and water-based substances from penetrating and can buy you valuable time in order to grab a towel or cloth to absorb up the spill. It also helps prevent general grime and grubbiness from penetrating the fibres, meaning that soil can be more effectively removed when you have a deep clean done.

Will it protect against all spills?

No, the stain protector is a great help for keeping your fabrics and carpets well maintained, but it is not bulletproof and certain substances may still mark or stain your carpet. Unfortunately, no single protector can protect against every kind of stain or spill. A few substances will defy even the most effective protector, i.e. bleach, some food colouring dyes etc. Our stain protector protects against most water and oil based spills and soiling. It’s good to remember even if you have a stain, we are more likely to be able to remove it if protector has been applied.

Does it change the appearance or feel of the carpet or upholstery?

The stain protector does not change the appearance or feel of your carpet or upholstery in any way.

Why should I get a stain protector treatment?

Having a stain protector applied to your carpet or upholstery provides you with fantastic value for money in terms of maintaining the quality of different silks and fabrics. It helps to prevent long term damage from a number of factors such as spills, pet damage, daily wear and tear, while keeping your home looking fresh and in top condition. It is a proven, robust type of seal which will prolong the life of your sofas and carpets – both in the home and in commercial/office settings.

How long does stain protector last?

The length of time a stain protector remains effective will depend largely on the amount of traffic an area gets – the hall of a public building or the reception area in an office may get substantially more use than a spare bedroom in your home, for example. On average, carpets and upholstery are cleaned every 1-2 years. The effectiveness of the stain protector will diminish every time furnishings are cleaned using Hot Water Extraction. We recommend that a top-up be reapplied after each professional clean.

Usually it is unnecessary to reapply the protector to the entire area that has been cleaned. For example, the carpet underneath your couches or piano is unlikely to need it. Similarly, the back and sides of your suite usually do not need a top-up application.

We can advise you on the recommended service when we visit your home and you can be confident our advice is the best there is in Dublin– we’ve been in business for over 39 years now and stain protector is a service we have offered almost since day one!
